Paris Terrorist Attack Foiled

· 29 March 2026 · 7 sources

French authorities successfully thwarted a suspected terrorist bombing outside the Bank of America headquarters in Paris during the early hours of March 28, 2026. Police arrested one suspect near the site in the 8th arrondissement, close to the Élysée Palace, after discovering an attempted ignition of an explosive device. A second suspect, a minor, was apprehended later in Essonne, expanding the scope of the investigation. The national anti-terrorism prosecutor’s office (PNAT) has launched a formal inquiry into terrorism-related offenses, highlighting ongoing vigilance against threats in France’s capital. This foiled attack underscores the persistent risk of terrorism in Europe and the importance of robust security measures at key financial and political locations.
