Vinicius Junior has spoken for the first time since he put pen to paper on a new six-year contact with Real Madrid.

The 26-year-old’s future remained uncertain, especially as he was into the final months of the previous deal.

Arsenal were very keen on Vinicius Jr, as Mikel Arteta identified the player to bolster his left wing.

Although Vinicius Jr was believed to be interested in a move to the Premier League champions, he ultimately agreed fresh terms with Madrid.

The Brazilian has now claimed eight years with Los Blancos was too short and he wants to continue playing for them.

“Eight years at the Bernabeu is too short…six more years and forever,” Vinicius posted on his Instagram story.

Vinicius Jr joined Real Madrid when he was 18 from Flamengo.
