A total of 13,013 civilians remain in active combat zones in Ukraine’s Donetsk region.
According to Ukrinform, this was announced during an online briefing by Serhii Honcharov, head of the Civil Protection, Mobilization, and Defense Department of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration.
"We currently have 19 communities classified as active combat zones. Regarding the population, 122 people remain in the Bakhmut district, 8,720 in the Kramatorsk district, 4,150 in the Pokrovsk district, and 21 in the Volnovakha district. Altogether, that is 13,013 people, including two children who remain in the city of Mykolaivka," Honcharov said, noting that the figures are current as of July 21, 2026.
He added that the active combat zone includes five communities in the Bakhmut district, five in the Kramatorsk district, seven in the Pokrovsk district, and two in the Volnovakha district.
According to Honcharov, nearly 1.406 million civilians, including about 212,000 children, have been evacuated from government-controlled areas of the Donetsk region since February 2022.
He also noted that 124,478 civilians currently remain in the government-controlled part of the Donetsk region, including approximately 6,624 children.
As previously reported, the mandatory evacuation of civilians from the Donetsk region has been in effect since August 2, 2022.
