Magnitude 5.4 quake strikes Occidental Mindoro
Cebu City, Philippines —A magnitude 5.4 earthquake struck west of Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro, at 10:38 a.m. today, August 7, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs-DOST).
The tectonic quake had a depth of 14 kilometers, located at 13.16°N, 120.50°E – 013 km S 57° west of the municipality of Mamburao.
The reported intensities are as follows:
- Intensity V – Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro,; City of Calapan, Naujan, Puerto Galera, San Teodoro,
- and Victoria, Occidental Mindoro,
- Intensity IV – Taal, Batangas; Abra De Ilog, and Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro
- Intensity III – Quezon City; Batangas City, Batangas; City of General Trias, Cavite;
- City of San Pedro, Laguna
- Intensity II – City of Parañaque; Santa Cruz, Laguna; Guinayangan, Quezon
The instrumental intensities are as follows:
