Katie Price has shared her fears for son Harvey’s health, revealing that the 24-year-old is at risk of having a heart attack.

Harvey – whose estranged father is retired footballer Dwight Yorke – was diagnosed at a young age with Prader-Willi syndrome, a rare genetic condition which can cause learning difficulties, behavioural challenges and physical symptoms. Harvey is also autistic and blind with septo-optic dysplasia, a congenital syndrome that comes with underdevelopment of the optic nerve and pituitary gland dysfunction.

Price said in a new interview that her biggest health concern about her eldest son, who has moved out of his residential home and is currently living with her, is his weight, revealing that he is just under 30 stone.

“I’m not worried about his eyesight. What I’m worried about is him having a heart attack, his obesity. He weighs just under 30 stone,” she told Andrew Gold’s Heretics podcast.

Price added that he was privately prescribed weight loss jabs, but said they are difficult to administer due to his other various medications. “I’ve tried going private with him to start him on Mounjaro. It’s easy for me to just give it, but because of his other medication, you have to have all the team tick it off.

“It’s getting to a point now, where he doesn’t want to walk anywhere, he gets out of breath and sweats and they have said he is at high risk of having a heart attack. You try to [force him to walk] but he literally breaks into a sweat. I bathe him twice a day and it breaks my heart seeing him get in and out of the bath because he’s so big and heavy.”

Price previously spoke about Harvey’s weight earlier this year, saying that she had been “on the case” to doctors about prescribing him with weight loss medication. “When he sleeps, I worry because he’s snoring and wheezing,” she said in March.

Elsewhere in the interview, Price said that people often underestimate Harvey, revealing that he’s “clever” with an “unbelievable” memory. However, his birth father is still not in contact with him – despite attempts by Price’s family to connect them. Yorke initially denied that he was Harvey’s father and demanded a paternity test, which later proved he was the child’s dad.

“Dwight would have such a laugh with Harv because he’s so funny,” Price told Gold. “My mum tries every year to contact his manager. Every year, it’s the same answer: not interested. Yet he’s got another son who’s the same age as Princess and apparently does stuff with him, sees him all the time.

“He’s seen [Harvey] about six times in his whole life. I wish he would get involved. Everyone is like, ‘Kate, why would you allow that when he has not been there?’ Because I’m not that kind of person. I want him to be proud of Harvey and what he’s become and he so looks like Dwight as well,” she continued. “Harvey has done so well considering they said he would never walk or talk.”

Price had a brief relationship with the former Aston Villa and Manchester United player in the early Noughties, resulting in the birth of Harvey in 2002.

In 2009, Yorke spoke about drifting away from Harvey, telling Sky News: “There’s a combination of different things. One, my time schedule and being based up in Manchester and being a footballer on an everyday basis. I’m not sitting here, saying I’m a total perfect father. I’ve made mistakes along the way. I’m sure that I would love to turn the clock back.

“My relationship [with Price] wasn’t stable at all and we both knew that. What I see of Harvey now, all I want to do is play an integral part of having an input in my son’s upbringing and unfortunately, that has been taken away from me in many ways. I have not enough access to him, I’ve never been invited up to my home in Manchester, never been invited to see my other side of the family. All these things she’s said about me in the past are quite hurtful.”
