Police find two bodies buried in backyard after relatives request wellness check

Police have launched an international manhunt for Matthew Flores, 27, after two bodies were discovered buried in the backyard of a home in Lichfield Park, Arizona.

The grim discovery was made on Thursday after relatives requested a welfare check on the couple living at the property and their adult son, Matthew Flores, on Tuesday.

A missing person’s investigation was commenced in response to the “suspicious circumstances” of the trio’s disappearance, with the Avondale Police Department notifying local residents via a Facebook video message in which it appealed for information but said there was no threat posted to the wider community.

The Avondale Police Department has not named the victims but is seeking Matthew Flores, who is believed to have fled the country and is considered a suspect in the missing persons case.

Neighbors expressed shock at the incident in their quiet area, with some reporting hearing yelling from the property prior to the welfare check.
