BERLIN, August 7. /TASS/. The Russian embassy in Germany is worried about resumed anti·Russian hysteria in Germany after a drone was found in Leipzig/Halle Airport.

"The embassy expresses concern about the new wave of anti·Russian hysteria in Germany. Another reason for the escalation was the allegedly accidentally discovered and immobilized by a bus driver attack drone at Leipzig Airport on the night of August 5, 2026," the embassy said on Telegram.

"The drone, as reported, was loaded with explosives, which allegedly failed to detonate near the Ukrainian transport aircraft by pure chance. As a result, a chain of ‘lucky coincidences’ made it possible to avoid casualties, preserve the Ukrainian aircraft carrying tons of European weapons for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, present to the public an example of a ‘hybrid attack’ on Germany, stir up anti·Russian hype in the media, and launch an official investigation on suspicion of terrorism involving a ‘foreign state’.

"The results of previous ‘investigations’ of this kind (and there have been many of them) are well known - accusations against Russia with a complete lack of evidence. And now, the most rabid ‘hawk·baiters’ are already shouting about an act of war against Germany and NATO and the need for Berlin to take retaliatory measures."
