A beauty queen who was ousted from a White House religious advisory group by the Trump administration said that defecting from the MAGA movement was like “leaving a cult.”

Carrie Prejean Boller, a former Miss California USA-turned MAGA social media influencer, told Piers Morgan’s Uncensored that she was “ostracized” after she left the movement, which followed her speaking out against President Donald Trump over the war in Iran and after she was kicked off the president’s board of the White House Religious Liberty Commission earlier this year.

Morgan asked Boller whether the “mood is right now for a new party” following a split on the conservative right, pointing to others such as Tucker Carlson and Marjorie Taylor Greene who have turned their backs on the president.

“For far too long, I think we've been told, us MAGA conservatives, that we've been in a cult, and I sort of feel like I am leaving this cult because as soon as you think for yourself and have common sense and question the narrative, you're ostracized,” Boller told Morgan on Thursday night’s show.

“As soon as you go against the cult leader, which I think Trump is the cult leader, then you all of a sudden are ostracized from the party,” she added.

Boller said she was likely to support a party led by Carlson, Green, and outgoing Republican Rep. Thomas Massie, who announced last week that they were weighing a new political “movement.”

“We said no more foreign wars and we meant it and supported Donald Trump because he made that promise,” Greene wrote last weekend, sharing a photo of the former Trump loyalists. “But he’s betrayed us all. Our commitment is America First for all Americans, right, left, and center,” she continued.

Boller was among the conservative voices who spoke out against Trump’s war with Iran. “I’ve been a loyal supporter of the president for almost 20 years,” she told Morgan on his show in March. “This goes back to when I was 21 years old and I was Miss California at the Miss USA pageant. And I’ve known him – I consider him a dear friend – and I will tell you right now, I do not recognize our president.”

Boller was removed from Trump’s religious advisory panel, created last year, following complaints from Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, the commission’s chair. The panel was charged by the president with “exploring the foundations of religious liberty in America.”

In February, Patrick accused Boller of trying to “hijack” a hearing on antisemitism after she questioned its definition and asked a Jewish member of the panel if he condemns Israel’s actions in Gaza.

“Carrie Prejean Boller has been removed from President Trump’s Religious Liberty Commission,” Patrick said at the time. “No member of the Commission has the right to hijack a hearing for their own personal and political agenda on any issue. This is clearly, without question, what happened Monday in our hearing on antisemitism in America.”

Patrick added that it was his decision to remove Boller, which she hit back at in a statement.

“As the name states, this is President Trump’s Religious Liberty Commission, not yours,” Boller retorted in a post on X. “I know @POTUS cares deeply about religious freedom, which is why he appointed me.”

In March, Boller shared a message she received from the White House confirming that Trump had terminated her from the board.
