A two-day conference on Thiruvasagam, a volume of Tamil hymns composed by Saivite poet Manikkavacakar, will be held at Madhavi Panneerselvam Hall near Arunachaleswar temple in Tiruvannamalai town on July 25 and 26.
According to poet Vijaykrishnan, a member of Tiruvannamalai Thiruperunthurai Adigalar Arakattalai, which would organise the event, said that the spiritual conference was aimed at promoting 51 compositions that comprises Thiruvasagam and create awareness about rich Tamil literature to the younger generation.
As part of the event, around one lakh participants worldwide will participate, mainly virtually, in writing 10 compositions from Thiruvasagam on Saturday to mark the occasion.
The event will also feature a debate on Tamil literature, speeches by spiritualists, an exhibition, and a rally in town. Around 25,000 participants are expected to attend the event, organisers said.
