OLONGAPO CITY, Philippines — Two landslides and a rockslide hit the upper areas of this city on Saturday (Aug. 8) as continuous southwest monsoon, or “habagat,” rains saturated the landslide-prone mountainous area of Sitio Tabacuhan in Barangay Santa Rita. Village councilor John Tagulao Cruz, head of the Committee on Disaster, said the first landslide occurred at about 9 a.m. along Bigtime Street in Tabacuhan and damaged a small residential house.
