Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi stated this in comments to journalists, according to Ukrinform.

"We are in close contact with the Bulgarian side and are currently establishing all the circumstances of what happened and all the technical facts. We are fully open to cooperation with Bulgaria to clarify the details. We can say with certainty that the Ukrainian Defence Forces did not deliberately direct any means toward Bulgaria," Tykhyi said.

He stressed that the root cause of such incidents is Russia's war against Ukraine, which has been ongoing for a fifth year, is being deliberately prolonged by Moscow, and poses a threat not only to Ukrainians but also to other peoples and countries.

"That is why ending the war as soon as possible is critically important for ensuring regional security, and we count on working together with our partners to force Moscow to make peace," the Foreign Ministry spokesperson emphasized.

Tykhyi thanked Bulgaria for its understanding and cooperation in establishing the full truth, ensuring security, and achieving peace.

As Ukrinform reported, on the morning of Saturday, August 8, a drone entered Bulgarian airspace from the direction of Romania and exploded approximately 100 meters from the border.

Bulgaria's Ministry of Defence said the drone was most likely a Maya decoy drone, which is widely used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
