The Bakels Supreme Pie Awards have just wrapped up.

It’s a fitting way to describe an event dedicated to food that’s literally wrapped in pastry.

And somewhere in New Zealand there’s now a baker who’s gone from being a local legend to a national one.

     That honour belongs to
