CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro, Philippines— Dozens of sea trips were canceled on Sunday, Aug. 9, as the southwest monsoon or habagat continued to bring bad weather and rough seas in several parts of the country. In its afternoon advisory, the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) listed canceled trips involving ports in the Mimaropa and Bicol Regions, on Panay Island, and the provinces of Bohol, Guimaras, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, and other areas.
