TUGUEGARAO CITY — Incessant rains due to the southwest monsoon (habagat) triggered landslides, road closures and rising river levels across Cagayan Valley and the Cordillera region on Sunday. In Cagayan, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) 3rd District Engineering Office reported that Itawes Bridge 1 in Maguiling, Piat, and Itawes Bridge 2 in Tuao were impassable due to the elevated water level of the Chico River.
