Sachal Afzal calls Nauman Ijaz the only actor worth competing against

Actor reveals he has checklist of directors, co-stars he wants to work with

Actor Sachal Afzal expressed his belief that acting was a craft rather than a competition, saying that for him, there was one actor he would jump at the opportunity to work alongside, Nauman Ijaz.

Sitting down for a conversation on a podcast, Afzal explained, "If I ever wanted to compete with an actor, though acting isn't a competition, there’s only one person I’d want to do it with, and that’s Nauman Ijaz." The actor added, "I know I’d lose to him in terms of acting ability, but losing to him would be a joy in itself."

Regarding his approach to decision-making, Afzal noted his commitment to personal responsibility. "I make my own decisions because I knew from the start that even if I make five wrong choices, I’ll have peace of mind knowing they were my own. That way, I won't have to cry in front of anyone or take blame from others," he said.

From sweeping two Lux Style Awards as a model to transitioning into lead acting roles, the actor carved out a niche in the television industry through versatile performances across dramas like Ishq Di Chashni, Leader, and *Zaabt. *

Attributing his achievements to goal-setting and maintaining humility, Afzal stated, "After modelling and winning awards, I made a checklist of brands I wanted to shoot with and ticked them off one by one. Then I made a list of directors and co-actors, and now I'm ticking those off as well."

Sharing a highlight following the success of his role in Zaabt, he revealed that he received a call from Noor ul Hassan, who he said was one of his favourite actors. The actor added, "He showered me with love, prayers, and praise for my character. I was literally in tears thinking it’s such a huge honour that he noticed my work."

Above all, Afzal credited his inner peace and career mindset to firm faith in the divine. "Allah has ordained everyone's portion. Nobody can take what is written for me, and I cannot claim what belongs to another," he noted.
