Morgan Wallen’s newly released single “Been By Now” debuts on the Billboard charts this week, and while it sits at No. 1 on several important rankings that focus on one form of consumption, it misses out on ruling the main tally. Wallen’s latest trails “Choosin’ Texas” by Ella Langley, which holds atop the Billboard Hot 100 for a milestone sixteenth week.

“Choosin’ Texas” is now tied with Wallen’s own “Last Night,” as well as “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber and “One Sweet Day” by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men, for the fourth-longest reign in the history of the Billboard Hot 100. “Been By Now” does stand out as the bestselling track in the nation, and as it opens in first place on one specific roster, Wallen ties one of the most successful pop stars of all time.

“Been By Now” arrives at No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart, which lists the bestselling individual tracks throughout the United States, with only traditional digital purchases – not streams or equivalent units – building the roster. Luminate reports that during the first seven days the Wallen track was available, it sold just under 12,500 copies.

“Been By Now” becomes Wallen’s eleventh No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart. With his latest champion secured, the Grammy nominee ties Katy Perry for the tenth-most rulers in the history of the ranking, with 11 apiece.

Perry’s track record is more concentrated than Wallen’s. Her 11 No. 1 hits come from 18 top 10s, while Wallen has pushed 36 tracks into the highest tier of the Digital Song Sales roster.

Morgan Wallen Scores His Second No. 1 of 2026

“Been By Now” is Wallen’s second new leader on the Digital Song Sales ranking this year. Back in May, “I Can’t Love You Anymore,” his collaboration with Langley, spent one frame running the show.

That track remains inside the top three this week as it sets up camp at No. 3. It sits behind “Normal” by BTS, which backtracks from the throne, and Wallen’s brand new champion.

In addition to the Digital Song Sales chart, “Been By Now” also leads the non-genre-specific Streaming Songs tally and the Country Streaming Songs roster. The single gives Wallen his sixth No. 1 on the Streaming Songs list. On the country-specific version of that rundown, he earns a landmark twentieth champion.

Morgan Wallen Debuts at No. 2 – Twice

In addition to the Billboard Hot 100, “Been By Now” also opens in second place on the Hot Country Songs ranking. In both cases, Wallen is stuck behind “Choosin’ Texas” from Langley.

“Been By Now” brings Wallen to a milestone 20 top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 – an incredible sum for a country act. He has collected a total of 45 top 10s on the Hot Country Songs tally.

Morgan Wallen Debuts High on Four More Billboard Rankings

“Been By Now” also manages a top 10 start on the Billboard Global 200, where it debuts at No. 4. The single misses that highest tier on the Country Airplay chart, but its No. 13 opening is still an exceptionally lofty starting point for one of Billboard’s radio rankings.
