MOSCOW, August 10. /TASS/. Air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 456 Ukrainian UAVs over Russian regions during the night, the Defense Ministry said.

Industrial and civilian facilities in Nizhnekamsk came under a massive drone attack, causing fatalities.

Attack scale

  • Air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 456 Ukrainian fixed-wing UAVs over Russian regions overnight, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

  • The drones were downed over the Bryansk, Kursk, Kaluga, Tula, Belgorod, Oryol, Voronezh, Rostov, Penza, Ulyanovsk, Saratov, Orenburg, Samara, Moscow, Krasnodar, and Tatarstan Regions, as well as over Crimea, the ministry said.

  • More than 70 UAVs were destroyed overnight over Kamensk-Shakhtinsky and the Chertkovsky, Millerovsky, Kamensky, Sholokhovsky, Verkhnedonskoy, Belokalitvinsky and Tarasovsky districts of the Rostov Region, Governor Yury Slyusar said on Telegram.

  • Air defenses destroyed nine Ukrainian UAVs over the Tula Region, Governor Dmitry Milyaev said on Max.

  • Air defenses destroyed 16 Ukrainian UAVs over the Kaluga Region, Governor Vladislav Shapsha said on Max.

  • Air defenses downed 11 Ukrainian UAVs over the Voronezh Region, Governor Alexander Gusev said on Max.

Aftermath

  • Industrial and civilian facilities in Nizhnekamsk came under a massive drone attack, causing fatalities, the press service of Tatarstan’s head told reporters.

  • The region declared mourning.

  • In the Voronezh Region, debris from a UAV ignited an outbuilding in one district, shattered windows in a private house and damaged heating pipes and a fence, Gusev said on Max.

  • Two other private properties sustained damage to fences and windows, while a facade was hit by shrapnel.

  • No one was injured.

  • In one municipality, windows were damaged in nine private houses, two of which will require repairs to gas pipelines.

  • Three cars and a tractor were also damaged.

  • In another district, a UAV impact blew out windows on two floors of a residential building.

  • Inspections of the sites and assessments of the damage are continuing.
