The District Police Office in Pathanamthitta has secured four ISO certifications covering quality management, environmental management, occupational health and safety, and customer satisfaction. An official statement said the office has received ISO 9001:2015 for its quality management system, ISO 14001:2015 for environmental management, ISO 45001:2018 for occupational health and safety management, and ISO 10004:2018, which provides guidelines for monitoring and measuring customer satisfaction.

According to R. Anand, District Police Chief, Pathanamthitta, the ISO 10004:2018 certification is particularly significant as the Pathanamthitta DPO is the first police office in India to receive the certification for customer satisfaction. It covers the systematic monitoring and measurement of citizen satisfaction and continual improvement in services relating to law enforcement, public safety, crime prevention, traffic management, community policing, grievance redressal and citizen support, he said

The other certifications recognise the systems put in place by the DPO in quality management, environmental protection and occupational health and safety. The environmental certification covers initiatives aimed at maintaining a clean and green working environment, while the occupational health and safety certification covers measures for ensuring workplace safety. The certifications were formally inaugurated by Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala on August 7.
