Industries and Commerce Minister T.G. Bharath Gupta visited the family of K. Priyanka, the medical student who died in a road rage incident in Rajamahendravaram, on Monday and offered condolences on behalf of the State government. The Minister travelled to Eklaspur village in Jogulamba Gadwal district of Telangana and paid floral tributes to Priyanka’s mortal remains.

The medical student was allegedly hit by a car driven by a drunk man at a mall in Rajamahendravam a few days back and succumbed to her injuries. The State government had announced a financial assistance of ₹50 lakh to the family of the deceased.

Mr. Bharath consoled Priyanka’s father and family members and expressed his sympathies. He handed over a cheque for ₹20 lakh as financial assistance from the State government to Priyanka’s father.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Bharath expressed grief over Priyanka’s death and assured that strict action would be taken against those responsible for the accident and that they would face severe punishment.

The Minister stated that the State government would cover the medical expenses incurred during Priyanka’s treatment. He also assured the family that the State government would support them in all possible way during the difficult time.
