SAN ILDEFONSO, Ilocos Sur — A portion of the slope protection structure at Nanguneg West Bridge in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur, was critically damaged by strong river currents and rising water levels brought by heavy rains from Tropical Storm Maymay and the southwest monsoon. In an advisory on Monday, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Ilocos Sur 2nd District Engineering Office installed warning and precautionary signs at the affected area to alert motorists and help ensure their safety.
