A dashcam has captured the terrifying moment a Hyderabad professor came face-to-face with a truck travelling on the wrong side of the road. His quick reflexes prevented what could have been a catastrophic crash.

Professor Sarit Chanda shared the footage on X, urging authorities to take action against the truck driver and describing the incident as a close brush with tragedy.

"Today, I just narrowly escaped on ORR soon after entering from the Shamsabad entry. I was negotiating a turn when an RMC truck suddenly came from the wrong side. God just saved me. Please take necessary action," he wrote.

The dashcam video begins with Chanda driving along the one-way stretch of the Outer Ring Road. As he approaches a bend and attempts to overtake a truck travelling ahead of him, another truck suddenly emerges from the opposite direction, despite the road being meant for one-way traffic.

With barely any time to react, Chanda quickly swerves his car, managing to avoid what could have been a devastating head-on collision. The narrow escape unfolds within seconds, highlighting just how dangerous wrong-side driving can be on high-speed roads.

As the video gained traction online, Chanda clarified that the footage had been sped up for the upload and that he had actually been travelling much slower than it appeared in the clip.

The incident prompted an outpouring of concern from viewers, many of whom called for stricter enforcement against motorists driving on the wrong side of the road.

"This is scary, such a narrow escape. People driving on the wrong side should be penalised without any mercy," one user commented.

The video caught the attention of the Hyderabad Traffic Police, which responded publicly to Chanda's post.

“Dear sir, upon receiving the information, the @shotr_rgia conducted an enquiry into the incident and successfully traced the driver of the RMC lorry,” they wrote.

The viral clip has once again underscored the potentially fatal consequences of wrong-side driving, with many users urging authorities to take swift action to prevent similar incidents from occurring on the city's roads.
