PBA: Converge snaps four-game skid, drubs Terrafirma

MANILA, Philippines—Converge finally got back on the winning side of things in the 2026 PBA Governors’ Cup after blasting Terrafirma, 120-103, at Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo on Tuesday.

The FiberXers snapped a four-game losing streak after starting the conference 3-0, improving to 4-4 in Group A behind TNT (4-3).

“One mistake here can get you knocked out,” Calvin Abueva said in Filipino after dropping a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds.

“This is a good opportunity for us before our last game against NLEX. Hopefully, our momentum keeps going. We have a long break incoming but we’ll work and hopefully, we make the playoffs.”

Converge started the game blazing hot against the Dyip, taking a 38-23 lead after the first quarter before extending its advantage to 70-48 at halftime.

But after leading by as much as 29 points, Converge saw its advantage fizzle heading into the fourth quarter with a 91-79 lead.

The FiberXers, though, closed the door on Terrafirma with a 10-2 run capped by a basket from Juan Gomez de Liano with 8:22 to play for the pivotal 101-81 lead.

They paraded their new import Cameron Clark, who finished with 22 points in the win. Justin Arana posted a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds while Gomez de Liano had an all-around game of 13 points, eight assists and six rebounds.

JD Tungcab and Justine Baltazar also chipped in 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Justin Strings’ double-double of 28 points and 11 rebounds went for naught as Terrafirma dropped to 3-5. Juami Tiongson scored 21, while Geo Chiu finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
