Nearly 10,000 property owners in Malkajgiri have received significant relief following progress in resolving a long-pending issue related to the inclusion of certain survey numbers in the 22-A prohibited properties list, thanks to the efforts of Malkajgiri MLA Marri Rajashekhar Reddy.

The issue stemmed from an apparent error in Waqf land records, in which several survey numbers belonging to Mallapur village were reportedly shown as part of Malkajgiri village. As a result, property owners in the affected areas faced hurdles in property registration and other land-related transactions.

However, following a representation to the government by Malkajgiri MLA Marri Rajashekhar Reddy and a subsequent examination of records, the Telangana Waqf Board forwarded the matter for correction of the relevant Gazette notification and publication of the necessary amendments in the Official Gazette. The Board also identified discrepancies among Waqf notifications published in Gazette No. 35 (August 27, 1987), Gazette No. 37 (September 13, 2001) and the Gazette dated June 29, 1989, and recommended their verification and rectification.

Residents of Malkajgiri welcomed the development and expressed gratitude to Mr. Rajashekhar Reddy for pursuing the matter with the concerned authorities. They said the resolution would help remove long-standing uncertainty and ease property-related transactions for thousands of affected owners.
