MOSCOW, August 12. /TASS/. The Russian defense-industrial complex has undergone a major transformation since the start of the special military operation, Kalashnikov Group CEO Alan Lushnikov said in an interview with TASS Director General Andrey Kondrashov.

"The special military operation has truly changed everything, and the defense industry restructured very quickly, although it wasn’t easy – we had to do it on all fronts at once," he said.

According to Lushnikov, the top priority became increasing production severalfold, which required switching the plants to a three-shift schedule to maintain virtually round-the-clock operations. In addition, it was necessary to tackle the labor shortage, therefore employee salaries were raised considerably. He also noted that, given the realities of the special military operation, the company became more responsive to modifying its products based on feedback from troops. Finally, one of the most critical aspects of adapting to current requirements was streamlining logistics for combat missions while maintaining a presence in the civilian market.
