Maruti Suzuki is just days away from launching the updated Brezza and fresh dealership sightings have revealed what appears to be the top-spec variant of the compact SUV. The latest videos not only showcase the facelifted exterior and revamped cabin but also indicate that the Brezza could finally receive a turbo-petrol engine for the first time.
Expected to launch on July 24, the refreshed Brezza will take on rivals such as the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Kia Syros, Mahindra XUV 3XO and Skoda Kylaq with a stronger feature list and a more engaging powertrain.
Turbo-petrol engine likely to be the biggest upgrade

The biggest talking point is the expected introduction of Maruti Suzuki's 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine. The three-cylinder unit, currently offered in the Fronx, produces 100bhp and 148Nm of torque and is expected to be paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox in the Brezza.
This will mark the first time the second-generation Brezza gets a turbocharged petrol engine. The presence of a six-speed manual gear lever in the vehicle further strengthens speculation that the new powertrain will be offered at launch.
Maruti Suzuki is also expected to continue offering the familiar 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, along with the factory-fitted CNG variant, giving buyers multiple powertrain choices.

While the overall silhouette remains unchanged, the facelift brings a sharper front-end design. The SUV gets a new grille, revised bumper and redesigned fog lamp housings. Higher variants feature a gold-finished grille, while the front bumper receives a larger silver insert resembling a skid plate.
The profile remains largely identical to the outgoing model, although it gets a new four-spoke alloy wheel design. Spy images suggest only minor revisions at the rear, with updated lighting signatures and bumper detailing expected.

The interior receives a noticeable technology upgrade. The biggest highlight is a new 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, replacing the smaller unit on the current model.
Other expected additions include:
- Ventilated front seats
- Ambient lighting
- Wireless phone charger
- Updated climate control panel
- Front parking sensors
- Auto-dimming IRVM
- Electric sunroof
- Powered driver's seat (expected)
- Level-2 ADAS on higher variants (expected)
The dashboard layout remains familiar, but new trim finishes and upholstery are expected to lend the cabin a more premium feel.
Launch on July 24
Maruti Suzuki has already commenced bookings for the Brezza facelift for a token amount of Rs 11,000. The updated SUV is expected to command a slight premium over the outgoing model, which is currently priced between Rs 8.26 lakh and Rs 13.01 lakh (ex-showroom).
If the turbo-petrol engine makes it to production, the Brezza will finally match rivals that already offer turbocharged petrol options, making it a much stronger contender in India's highly competitive compact SUV segment.
