NEW DELHI: Cockroach Janta Party (
CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has hinted at a fresh phase of the partyâs protest campaign, saying that âSeason 2â of its âJantar-Mantarâ movement will begin soon.
âMany people were commenting on Instagram about when Season 2 of âJantar-Mantarâ will begin. I want to tell them that Season 2 of âJantar-Mantarâ is going to start very soon,â Dipke said.
The remarks come amid a series of activities and statements by the CJP, which has been seeking to position itself around issues involving young people and protests.
âSeason 2â hint
Dipke did not provide details about when or where the next phase of the protest would be held, or what specific demands it would focus on.
His remarks, however, suggest that the CJP is preparing to return to the protest space at Jantar Mantar after its earlier campaign there.
The CJP founder has also recently backed a protest by schoolchildren in Uttar Pradesh who marched to the Hamirpur district collectorate demanding a proper road to their school.
Around 300 students and 100 parents had participated in the march, with the students highlighting the condition of the road, particularly during the monsoon.
Dipke praised the students and said their demand for basic connectivity should have been addressed decades ago.
CJP claims pressure over Delhi volunteersâ meet
Dipkeâs latest remarks also come against the backdrop of his allegation that the CJP faced difficulties in organising a volunteersâ meeting in Delhi.
According to Dipke, the party had struggled to find a venue for the meeting, with several hall owners allegedly saying they were under âpressure from aboveâ.
He claimed the CJP eventually secured a hall but alleged that its owners received threats on the morning of the meeting.
Dipke alleged that they were warned against allowing the CJP gathering to take place at the venue.
Dipke blamed the BJP for the alleged pressure and said the partyâs actions showed that it was âafraid of the countryâs youthâ. He also said such alleged attempts would not deter the CJP.
