DriveThruRPG is the largest seller of digital copies of tabletop role-playing games, providing a convenient way to buy PDFs of games like Daggerheart, The One Ring, and the Cosmere RPG. The site has a long-running partnership with Paizo to stock works by independent creators for its Pathfinder and Starfinder settings, an arrangement similar to the one it operates with Wizards of the Coast for Dungeon Masters Guild Dungeons & Dragons supplements. Now Paizo’s full official catalog is coming to DriveThruRPG, which is good news for convenience-minded gamers but a sign of the serious problems the publisher is facing.

Paizo’s former distributor, Diamond Comics, declared bankruptcy in January 2025, leaving the publisher without access to $10 million worth of books that were meant to be sold through major retailers like Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Paizo’s exclusive contract with Diamond also kept it from finding a new distributor while legal challenges were moving forward. The company lost nearly $2 million in 2025 and had to lay off 12 employees in June to reduce its operating costs. Paizo also scaled back its distribution of free PDFs and its investment in organized play products and virtual tabletop support.

With its retail operations disrupted, Paizo launched a new website in November to make it easier for shoppers to buy physical and digital products directly from the publisher. The DriveThruRPG partnership is another opportunity to bolster sales at a crucial time. More than 1,200 Pathfinder and Starfinder titles will be available, with the latest official books from both games joining the existing library of Pathfinder and Starfinder Infinite Marketplace products. In the coming months, DriveThruRPG will also begin selling Paizo print titles and allowing customers to sync their Paizo and DriveThruRPG accounts to access PDFs across both websites.

“Expanding our partnership with DriveThruRPG makes it easier for more players to discover and enjoy Pathfinder and Starfinder,” Paizo CEO Jim Butler said in a statement. “We’re excited to bring decades of Paizo releases to the DriveThruRPG community, with even more options ahead.”

Hopefully, the publisher will be able to recover from the Diamond Comics disaster swiftly and keep bringing great RPG products to its loyal fanbase.
