Vice Chancellor of Pondicherry University P. Prakash Babu has stressed the need to inculcate the spirit of research among students.

Participating at the Research Conclave 2026 organised by the University, the Vice Chancellor said institutions should organise more programmes to nurture a strong research temperament among students in the country. Scholars and students should go beyond academic publications in the field of research, he said.

He emphasised the importance of patenting, technology transfer, and commercialisation. Efforts should be made to translate the research outcomes for betterment of society and economic upliftment, a release from PU said.

Research scholars from various disciplines, including Arts, Science, Humanities, Engineering and Management presented their findings at the conclave. The conclave was an opportunity to showcase the research activities undertaken by the University, the release added.
