Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade has urged her teammates to put behind them the disappointing defeat to Cameroon, DAILY POST reports.

The 10-time African champions’ failure to beat the Indomitable Lionesses in the quarter-finals of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations cost them automatic qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Justine Madugu’s side have another opportunity to qualify for Brazil 2027 through the inter-confederation playoffs.

Nigeria must, however, beat South Africa’s Banyana Banyana in their play-in clash to secure a berth at the mini-tournament.

Ajibade declared that beating South Africa is very important for the Super Falcons.

“What has happened has happened. There’s nothing we can do about that. We can’t control it anymore. It’s all about putting ourselves together and getting the loss behind us,” Ajibade told reporters.

“Being in the World Cup, honestly, in Nigeria, that is very important for us. So we’ll do our best.”

Tonight’s encounter, slated for the Moulay Rachid Stadium, Casablanca, will kick off at 9pm.
