SEVASTOPOL, August 13. /TASS/. Five people – four pyrotechnicians of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and one security guard – died in Sevastopol during the disposal of an Ukrainian munition following an attack on the city. Governor Mikhail Razvozhayev reported this on Max.

"A tragedy has occurred in Sevastopol: four pyrotechnicians of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and one security guard died while performing their official duty. Our guys were inspecting the territory after an Ukrainian attack. The enemy ordnance detonated while the specialists were performing their most important and most dangerous job – clearing our land of deadly metal, protecting the city and its people," Razvozhayev said.

He noted that the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations have thousands of neutralized shells and minefields to their name – both from the Great Patriotic War and from modern times. They saved lives in Sevastopol, Donbas, and the Kursk region. "This is a terrible loss. Each of them leaves behind families, friends, and colleagues. No words can now ease this pain. The Sevastopol government and the Ministry of Emergency Situations will provide all necessary assistance and support to the families of the fallen heroes," the governor emphasized.
