President Volodymyr Zelensky heard a briefing on preparations for various possible scenarios in the Chernihiv-Kyiv sector, taking into account intelligence reports.

The head of state announced this on Facebook after a meeting with Acting Defense Minister Yevhen Khmara and Deputy Head of the Office of the President Pavlo Palisa, along with the commanders of our army corps, according to Ukrinform.

“There was a briefing on our preparations for various scenarios along the Chernihiv-Kyiv axis, taking into account intelligence reports and the Russians’ ongoing efforts to find additional ways to prolong and expand the war,” Zelensky said.

He also noted that during the conversation with military officials, the discussion focused primarily on the front’s most urgent needs, the defense of border areas, and the commanders’ views on the details of Ukraine’s defense strategy.

“We spoke with the commanders of the 9th, 12th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 18th, and 21st Corps, as well as the 30th Marine Corps. Thank you for your suggestions. The commanders reported on the situation in their respective sectors, the Russian army’s activities, the enemy’s plans, and our capabilities to counter them. We analyzed the details of the defense of Kherson, the cities and communities of the Dnipropetrovsk region, particularly Nikopol,” the President said.

According to him, the key priorities are countering Russian drones, protecting the population, and securing the necessary additional supplies.

During the meeting, they also discussed the need to strengthen frontline air defense and identified the necessary steps to continue corps-level reform.

As previously reported, Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the Russians are considering Belarus and the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation as potential launch points for additional attacks on Ukraine.
