Leaders from various political parties congratulated Sattenapalli TDP MLA and former Minister Kanna Lakshminarayana on completing five decades of public life and hailed him as a leader with discipline and commitment.

Addressing celebrations marking his 53rd year in politics, in Guntur, Assembly Speaker Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu said aspiring politicians should learn from Mr. Kanna’s six electoral victories. He said repeated victories reflected the trust earned through discipline and addressing people's needs.

Deputy Speaker K. Raghu Ramakrishna Raju said Mr. Kanna had a support base in every village and wished him continued public service and higher positions and good health.

Water Resources Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu said the senior leader’s six terms as MLA and three ministerial assignments in undivided Andhra Pradesh were rare achievements. He said Mr. Kanna worked for people's welfare irrespective of the department he handled and played an important role in building the alliance against the YSRCP government.

Senior Congress leader and former Minister N. Raghuveera Reddy recalled working with Mr. Kanna for more than two decades, and called him a “fighter” and “warrior” who successfully handled every responsibility.

Vijayawada West MLA Sujana Chowdary said the Sattenapalli MLA played a key role when the BJP adopted a resolution favouring Amaravati as the capital. MP Daggubati Purandeswari said Mr. Kanna treated her like a sister and built a strong political foundation through NSUI.

Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar, TDP State president Palla Srinivas and BJP State president P.V.N. Madhav were among those who spoke at the event.

Film actor Brahmanandam was honoured at the event.
