It feels like a new Ryan Murphy show arrives every week these days, so it’s natural that interest in American Horror Story has waned a bit in recent years. But the gleefully lurid series has regained its buzz with the upcoming season 13, an all-star crossover poised to reengage fans who may have tuned out somewhere around the 1984 season a few years back.

A first teaser is here, and whileâper traditionâwe don’t know much about what season 13’s story will be, we do know who’s showing up for the shocking scares and supernatural drama. That includes our old pals Constance Langdon (Jessica Lange), Kai Anderson (Evan Peters), Cordelia Goode (Sarah Paulson), Marie Laveau (Angela Bassett), Madison Montgomery (Emma Roberts), Twisty the Clown (John Carroll Lynch), and Rubber Man (Peters again).

The Murder House, Cult, Coven, and Freak Show seasons are all represented by those characters, and Murphy confirmed in a recent Variety interview that Asylum would also be in the mix too. “I know which ones the fans liked the most,” he said, and it sure seems like he aims to deliver major fan service in season 13.

The teaser also features a list of the main cast members; it includes some folks who don’t pop up in the clip (and zero Kardashians):

John Waters, you say? Now we’re really intrigued. And that’s not a complete list; as Variety notes, the cast also features the likes of Avantika, Elle Chapman, Berto Colon, Alex Consani, Mat Fraser, Seth Gabel, Tig Notaro, Madelaine Petsch, Fedor Steer, Mena Suvari (whose Black Dahlia gets a memorable shot in the teaser), Zach Villa, and more.

American Horror Story season 13 premieres September 24 on FX and Hulu.
