The Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam atop Indrakeeladri has introduced a series of security and crowd-management measures, including a complete ban on carrying mobile phones to the temple premises.

Temple Executive Officer Seena Naik, in a release on Thursday, said the measures were aimed at strengthening the safety of devotees and ensuring hassle-free darshan.

A new security gate has been installed at the main scanning point to screen devotees entering the temple. The EO has directed Home Guards and Agile security personnel to intensify checks at the new security point and ensure that no mobile phone is taken beyond the scanning gate.

Devotees need to deposit their mobile phones at the designated counters before entering the darshan queue lines. The temple authorities have appealed to devotees to plan for the additional time required to deposit their phones and cooperate with the security personnel.

As part of the crowd-management measures, the temple administration has shifted several service counters to streamline the movement of devotees. These include darshan ticket-issuing counters and counters for distribution of free laddu prasadam.

The revised arrangements are intended to ensure that devotees can proceed directly from the entrance towards the darshan area without disruption caused by queues at various service counters, he said.

The temple administration appealed to devotees to follow the instructions of security and temple personnel to facilitate a smooth and peaceful darshan.
