Ted Lasso season 4 is off to a strong start, with Apple revealing to Deadline that it had “the biggest launch ever for Apple TV.” Here are the numbers.
Ted Lasso season 4 premiere sets new record for Apple TV
The highly anticipated season 4 return of Ted Lasso is already setting records.
The Season 4 premiere drew 296.6 million viewing minutes in the U.S. across its August 4 and 5 launch window, per Nielsen data provided by Apple on Thursday. On August 5 alone, the season debut was the most-streamed program in the U.S. with more than 200 million viewing minutes. Per Apple, this also marks the biggest launch ever for Apple TV.
It’s not all that surprising, but the early success of Ted Lasso season 4 proves there’s still a big audience for the show.
When season 3 aired in 2023, it became the most-watched original that year across all streaming services. This was a huge feat, especially considering Apple TV’s smaller subscriber base relative to competitors like Netflix.
It seemed for a while that the series might end after season 3. But now, after years of rumors, hopes, and dreams, Ted Lasso has officially returned. And it sounds like Apple hopes to keep the show going for many years to come.

Apple TV is available for $12.99 per month, or you can get it discounted through the Apple One bundle.
