Person seriously injured after reported stabbing in Te Atatū, Auckland

One person has been seriously injured after being reportedly stabbed in Te Atatū, Auckland.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Bridge Avenue at 7:35pm on Wednesday, after reports of a stabbing.

Police said one person was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where they remain.

A 31-year-old male was found nearby and arrested by police. He has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and stalking and harassment.

The victim and the 31-year-old male knew each other, according to reports police received.

He has been remanded in custody is due to appear in the Waitākere District Court on 20 August.
