SEOUL, Aug. 14 (Yonhap) -- Samsung Electronics Co. said Friday it has recruited two experts in artificial intelligence (AI) and data engineering to strengthen its AI capabilities in its semiconductor business.

Han Bo-hyung, a professor at Seoul National University and a leading expert in deep learning and vision AI, will lead the development of AI models specialized for semiconductor research and development (R&D).

Hahn Tai-rin, a data engineering expert, will be responsible for building AI-ready data that can be used by AI systems.

Samsung plans to expand the use of AI across key semiconductor operations, including chip design, process technology and manufacturing, to improve development efficiency and productivity.

The world's largest memory chipmaker said it will continue to recruit top talent in AI and data engineering and leverage their expertise across the organization to strengthen its companywide AI capabilities.
