SEOUL, Aug. 14 (Yonhap) -- Musinsa Co., a South Korean fashion and retail platform company, said Friday it will open an offline outlet in Indonesia as part of its global expansion strategy.

Musinsa has signed a deal with Indonesian retailer PT Mitra Adiperkasa Tbk (MAP) to enter the Southeast Asian market by opening a Musinsa Standard outlet next year, the company said in a press release.

"The Musinsa Standard store will be located in MAP's shopping malls in the form of a shop-in-shop, and MAP will be in charge of the store's operations," a company spokesperson said.

Musinsa sees Indonesia as a key Southeast Asian market for its offline business, given its population of 280 million and rising demand for K-fashion products.

The company has been expanding partnerships with local companies to establish a presence in global fashion markets.

On Wednesday, the company signed an agreement with ACX Holdings Corp., the retail platform of the Philippines' biggest conglomerate, Ayala Group, to open a Musinsa Standard outlet later this year.

In China, it already operates three Musinsa Standard stores with one Musinsa Store outlet in Shanghai, and another in Guangzhou.

"Next year, the company plans to open a Musinsa Standard store in Japan," the spokesperson said.

Musinsa Standard outlets sell the company's in-house fashion brands, while Musinsa Store outlets are curated K-fashion stores carrying partner brands.

The company currently offers more than 10,000 South Korean fashion brands on its online platform. In Korea, it operates 41 Musinsa Standard outlets as well as six Musinsa Store locations.

Of the domestic brands, about 4,000 also sell their products through Musinsa Global, the company's English-language platform targeting 13 strategic markets, excluding China.
