“He has peacefully joined his creator.”

Azi served as Speaker from June 2015 to July 2018 during the administration of former Governor Simon Lalong.

He was a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and remained active in the state’s political affairs after leaving office.

He had led the House during a period of significant political activity in Plateau State.

His death has thrown political associates, lawmakers, and members of his community into mourning.

The late ex-lawmaker rose through Plateau’s political structure to lead the legislature, the pinnacle of his career.

The bereaved family stated that burial arrangements would be announced in due course.
