The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) issued a warning lasting approximately 90 minutes for the northern part of Tulcea County.

The Romanian Ministry of National Defense stated that it was informed on Friday, August 14, following an emergency call regarding a drone crash near the village of Lunca Vica, approximately 5 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

According to the ministry, the drone crashed in a forested area, and there have been no reports of casualties or property damage.

“Based on the information currently available, the aerial target was not detected by the Ministry of National Defense’s radar surveillance systems because it was flying at a very low altitude,” the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry is investigating the incident. A team from the ministry was dispatched to inspect the crash site with the support of an IAR PUMA 330 SOCAT helicopter.

Authorities stated that they will provide additional information as the situation develops.

As reported by Ukrinform, on Friday, August 14, for the second day in a row, a state of heightened alert was declared on the beach of the Romanian resort of Costinești (in the southeastern part of the country) following the discovery of drone debris.
