Agriculture Minister T. Siddique will hoist the national flag and receive the salute at the Independence Day parade to be held at S.K.M.J. Higher Secondary School ground, Kalpetta, at 9 a.m. on Saturday (August 15).

MLAs I.C. Balakrishnan and Usha Vijayan, Wayanad district panchayat president Chandrika Krishnan, District Collector D.R. Meghashree, and District Police Chief S. Deva Manohar will attend the event.

Seventeen platoons, including those from the police, Excise and Forest departments, will participate in the parade. Later, students from various schools in the district will present a range of cultural programmes.
