The Main Directorate for Mine Action, Civil Protection and Environmental Safety, acting as the secretariat of the National Mine Action Authority, collects, analyzes, and verifies data on such incidents and victims before entering it into the mine-action information management system.
The information is provided by regional military administrations, regional units of the State Emergency Service, and the National Police.
This work is carried out as part of Ukraine’s obligations under Protocol II and Protocol V of the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons (CCW), which prohibits or restricts the use of certain conventional weapons that may be considered excessively injurious or indiscriminate.
