The Hebbagodi police in Bengaluru have arrested a 23-year-old security guard from West Bengal for allegedly planning to undergo terrorist training and target the Pakistanqi army. He allegedly established contact with a suspected member of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Afghanistan, according to the FIR.

The accused, identified as Asaful Mallick, is a native of North 24 Parganas district in West Bengal. He had been working as a security guard at a company in Jigani Industrial Area since December 2025. He was staying near APC Circle in Jigani.

The FIR was registered based on a complaint by Hebbagodi police Sub-Inspector Srikanth Naykar, who reportedly received information about the accused from an informant.

According to the FIR, police received information that Asaful Mallick was planning to undergo training for a terrorist act to retaliate against the Pakistan Army in retaliation for alleged atrocities against Muslims in Pakistan. Subsequently, the police gathered information about the suspect and traced him to an under-construction building near Jigani. The police detained Asaful Mallick and brought him to the station for questioning, the FIR states.

During questioning, he allegedly told the police that he was angry with the Pakistan Army over alleged atrocities against mosques and people in Pakistan. He allegedly expressed anger over Pakistan’s stance over the Israel-Palestine conflict, according to the FIR.

Police claimed that he had befriended an Afghan national, identified as Imran Haider, through social media channels, whom the FIR describes as a member of the TTP.

According to the police, Asaful Mallick allegedly sought Imran Haider’s assistance to join the TTP and travel to Afghanistan for training to retaliate against the Pakistan Army. He had allegedly applied for a visa to travel to Afghanistan, but later changed his mind due to financial difficulties and concerns about taking care of his family members, the FIR states.

Police examined Asaful Mallick’s mobile phone and allegedly found chats with Imran Haider on social media, besides several voice calls and audio recordings, according to the FIR.

The police have alleged that Asaful Mallick had discussed destroying the Pakistan Army through terrorist activities. Police have registered an FIR under Section 113(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
