Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5, starring the voices of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and Joan Cusack, arrives on digital streaming this week after crossing a major box office milestone.

Directed by Finding Nemo and WALL-E Oscar winner Andrew Stanton, Toy Story 5 opened in theaters on June 19. In the film, Buzz Lightyear (Allen) and Jessie (Cusack) and their traditional toy pals suddenly feel obsolete when a new tech tablet, Lilypad (Greta Lee), takes up Bonnie’s (Scarlett Spears) playtime, so Jessie contacts Woody (Hanks) for help.

When the young girl is teased by new friends for bringing Jessie and Bullseye to a sleepover, Jessie attempts to reconnect with her past as she ends up on an unexpected adventure to the home of her original owner. Meanwhile, Buzz encounters a group of factory-fresh new-and-improved Lightyear toys, who are on a mission to find Star Command.

After earning $159.6 million from 4,425 theaters domestically during its opening weekend June 19-21, Toy Story 5 went on to become one of the biggest releases of the summer movie season. Going into its ninth weekend in theaters on Friday, Toy Story 5, which is still playing in 1,925 North American locations, has earned $473.1 million domestically and $624.2 million internationally for a worldwide box office tally of $1.097 billion.

‘Toy Story 5’ Arrives On PVOD On Tuesday

Walt Disney Home Entertainment recently announced that Toy Story 5 will arrive on digital streaming via premium video on demand on Tuesday, Aug. 18. The film will be available for purchase on PVOD on such digital platforms as Apple TV, Fandango at Home, Prime Video and YouTube Movies & TV.

While WDSHE did not announce the prices for Toy Story 5 on PVOD, generally new releases on digital streaming from the studio cost $29.99 to purchase and $24.99 to rent for 48 hours.

Purchased digital copies of Toy Story 5 will include access to several bonus features, including five production featurettes, five deleted scenes and feature film commentary by co-director Kenna Harris, production designer Bob Pauley and VFX supervisor Thomas Jordan.

Exclusive to the digital release of Toy Story 5 are Taylor Swift’s official music and lyric videos for the film’s end title song, “I Knew It, I Knew You.”

In addition to Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Scarlett Spears and Greta Lee, Toy Story 5 includes a massive voice cast, including Craig Robinson, Lori Alan, Jay Hernandez, Bonnie Hunt, Kristen Schaal, Tony Hale, John Hopkins, Wallace Shawn, Ernie Hudson, Krys Marshall, Jeff Bergman, Blake Clark and Anna Vocino.

Also featured in the voice cast are Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio (aka Bad Bunny), Jerome Ranft, Annie Potts, Matty Matheson, John Ratzenberger, Keanu Reeves, Melissa Villaseñor, Shelby Rabara, Mykal-Michelle Harris and Alan Cumming.

WDSHE announced that in addition to the PVOD release of Toy Story 5, the film will be released on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on Tuesday, Sept. 22.
