ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — Aleson Shipping Lines, Inc. announced the resumption of its passenger sailing operations starting on Friday, August 14, restoring vital sea connections from Zamboanga City to Isabela and Lamitan cities of Basilan province, and Bongao in Tawi-Tawi. This came after nearly seven months of suspension. The return of Aleson’s fleet comes after the Department of Transportation (DOTr) lifted its order grounding all of Aleson’s passenger vessels on January 27, a day after the sinking of M/V Trisha Kerstin 3 off Basilan that claimed lives and prompted a full safety audit.
