BUTUAN CITY — The Balang-balang Banana Farmers Agriculture Cooperative (BABAFAC) in Remedios T. Romualdez (RTR), Agusan del Norte is diversifying its ventures, moving from banana chips and egg production to swine farming with P2 million in government support. Since 2024, the cooperative has been backed by the Department of Agriculture (DA) – Caraga, through the Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Program. “The first intervention we received from DA-SAAD in 2024 was for our banana production.
