That is according to the regional police, Ukrinform reports.

"Kherson region police officers evacuated a 47-year-old woman and her 17-year-old son from the frontline village of Charivne. The boy was the last minor remaining in the settlement," the statement said.

The village of Charivne is under constant threat of enemy attacks. Therefore, following a decision by the Kherson Regional Defense Council, the settlement was included in the mandatory evacuation zone. Police officers are helping residents who wish to leave the dangerous area.

Police said that during the evacuation, the 17-year-old was provided with a protective bulletproof vest. They helped the family load their essential belongings and transported the boy and his mother to safety in an armored vehicle. A relative was waiting for them there and drove them to a settlement in the Mykolaiv region.

During the evacuation, the teenager told police officers that he dreams of becoming a history teacher. He plans to apply to one of the higher education institutions in Mykolaiv. The officers wished the future student every success.

Police once again urged families with children not to wait for the security situation to deteriorate and not to delay evacuating from communities in the Kherson region that are under daily attack by Russian forces.

As reported, the villages of Krasnosilske and Charivne in the Borozenske community were added to the list of settlements where mandatory evacuation is being carried out in the Kherson region.
