Drink-driving charges and dozens of infringement notices were issued during a weekend police operation in Taranaki.

Checkpoints were set up across New Plymouth, Ōakura, Bell Block, Inglewood and Waitara on Friday and Saturday nights, with assistance from the Manawatū and Whanganui Impairment Prevention teams.
