Teva Canada recalls some Pregabalin capsules over sertraline contamination concerns

Customers with items from affected lots advised to return products to pharmacies

Teva Canada is recalling some of its Teva-Pregabalin 150 mg capsules after it said routine testing identified possible contamination with the drug sertraline.

The two lots affected by the recall are:

• 100070495
• 100068913

The items were first sold in Canada in September 2025 and have an expiration date of July 31, 2027.

"Patients with a hypersensitivity or allergy to sertraline could experience side effects or have a serious allergic reaction, including an anaphylactic reaction, even at a low exposure," according to a recall notice from Health Canada, noting anaphylactic reactions can be fatal.

The agency said anyone with products from the above-mentioned lots should return them to a pharmacy as soon as possible.

Pregabalin is a prescription drug used to treat pain caused by nerve damage. Sertraline is another prescription drug used to relieve symptoms of depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder and panic disorders.

Toronto-based Teva Canada said in its recall notice on Friday that the move is a "precautionary measure."
