Applications open for Lazaro-Javier's replacement at Supreme Court

MANILA, Philippines — The Judicial and Bar Council has opened applications for the Supreme Court seat to be vacated by Associate Justice Amy Lazaro-Javier upon her retirement in November.

The JBC said Lazaro-Javier is set to retire on November 16, leaving one of the high court's 14 associate justice posts vacant.

Applicants have until 4:30 p.m. on Octover 1 to submit their requirements.

Lazaro-Javier was appointed to the Supreme Court in 2019, succeeding retired Associate Justice Noel Tijam.

Before joining the high court, she served as a Court of Appeals justice from 2007 to 2019.

She also chaired the 2025 Bar Examinations.
